Rep. Jamie Kiel, R-Russellville, said there will also be money set aside for water and sewer infrastructure projects.
Some of the money will be made available for “emergency use,” while other funds will be available through grant programs, which require matching funds.
Kiel said the money available for broadband is an opportunity of a lifetime and an investment in the future.
“We want to make sure it’s invested wisely,” he said.
Kiel also said he is introducing a “Texas heartbeat” style anti-abortion bill, and a bill that will crack down on synthetic marijuana derivatives that are often sold in convenience stores.
